Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia

Planning a vacation or road trip can be a taxing experience. There's a lot of stress that can result from making sure all of the supplies, clothing, money, and directions are in order before hitting the road. These are all adult problems, however, so don't forget that your kids are expecting to actually have fun on vacation. So let the kids enjoy themselves and take them to Philadelphia's Please Touch Museum.

Located at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park at 4231 Avenue of the Republic Philadelphia, PA 19131.

The Please Touch Museum became Philadelphia's Children's Museum in 1976. Since then, the venerable children's learning center has been dedicated to fostering a love for discovery and education through play for visiting families. Not only is Please Touch Museum one of the country’s best museums aimed at children 7 and under, but it was also the first.

Exhibits

Here's a quick look at just a few of the museum's great exhibits:

City Capers

This exhibit features an actual city (scaled down, of course) within the museum walls. Kids have a chance to interact with the people and places that make living in the city so exciting.

Flight Fancy

Movement is the main focus of Flight Fancy. Kids get to play with different, fanciful "flying" machines that are powered by play.

Wonderland

Unleash your imagination with the Wonderland exhibit. Constructed to replicate the fictional world of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, your kids will love seeing familiar characters and sets from a time-honored classic.

Hours

Please Touch Museum is open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Sundays.
